To ensure the preservation and promotion of rich tradition of exquisite craftsmanship, the Government of Karnataka established the Cauvery Handicrafts Emporium under the Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd (KSHDCL) in 1964. Thye sell exquisite sandalwood carvings and intricate rosewood inlay work. In addition, they sell Wood crafts, Metal crafts, Silk embroidered items, Perfurmery and incense sticks, paintings, batiks, Sandal paste and oil, etc.

The high standard of craftsmanship maintained by Karnataka Government Handicrafts Emporium has made the Cauvery name synonymous with quality handicrafts.
